The latest project from the Restore-A-Ford team was this Mk2 Capri. Purchased as an abandoned project with only 39 thousand miles on the clock
and 2 recorded keepers. She was in fantastic original condition with only minor signs of age to rear wheel arches and wing rails.
As this car was in such good condition it was decided to turn it into a bit of a show stopper by detailing the underside and engine bay.
The engine bay was stripped of all components, then treated to new paint and everything refurbished or renewed before being refitted.
The rear axle, fuel tank and all other components were removed, overhauled then refitted using new bushes and new 2.8 capri suspension.
Due to the rear wheel arches and various minor imperfections it was decided to repaint the complete car to get it back to its 'fresh from the showroom' look.
All the trim items were refinished in satin black, including bumpers and badges etc. to bring this car to the highest standard which you would expect
from Restore-A-Ford.
Once the car was refitted, it was treated to a set of 70's style minilite alloys to add to that super cool 70's look, which you will agree looks fantastic.
The car still retains its original Cadiz deckchair style interior, again oozing retro fashion! I am sure Terry from Minder would have shaken with Arthur on this one!
Our comments: This car strikes a soft spot for Stuart as his first capri back in 1987 was a mk2 and brings back some great memories! Letting this one go won't be easy :(
